  5. Thank you for putting words to all that I’ve been feeling but couldn’t express as beautifully as you have. My husband is a LEO in the St. Louis area and it’s been rough, really rough. I don’t know other police wives, so I felt very supported when I read your “You Betrayed Them” piece!

    1. Nancy, I can’t even imagine what it must be like there. It looks and sounds even worse than it’s been here. One thing that definitely helped me with the whole LEOW thing is joining some different police fb pages and forums. It makes such a difference to have some connection with others that are on the same page, you know? I’d love to stay in touch if you ever need to talk, rant or anything else. Lots of love and prayers to you and your husband.

    2. I loved reading your supportive response and would really like to keep in touch/correspond once in a while. Is there a less public way to email you or would you prefer I just post here? Some things that would be nice to be able to talk about with another LEOW aren’t things I’d be comfortable posting on a website. Whatever is best for you. Let me know!

  9. Anna,

I am a fellow Leo wife and your words ring so true and I thank you for taking the time to say was so many of us want to.

No one understands the fear that we experience every day our husbands walk out the door; even more so now and I appreciate you bringing that to light through your beautifully worded post.

Merry Christmas and God bless you.

  10. May God watch over your husband and all police officers and first responders. It’s heart wrenching the evil acts which have occurred. I only hope and prayer that this is a wake up call for change and that their deaths are not in vain, but their families will be forever devastated. Blessing to you and yours.

  11. Anna I am not even sure what to say after reading this blog of yours. It hit so close to home. I’m from new York – but I am now living in Massachusetts on Cape Cod.
i use to work for the port authority of NY & NJ. My father was a NYC cop so I am fully aware of the difficult things that families must go through.
Your article on the shooting of those 2 brave officers was just spectacular. You said everything I was feeling and the pain I was experiencing.
Thank you so much for clarifying the thoughts in my head & heart.
Merry Christmas to you and your family and may we all have a safe, loving, caring new year

    1. Liz, Thank you so much for your comment and for sharing your thoughts. It’s hard to explain that LEO connection until you’ve experienced it, but once you have it’s such a strong, beautiful bond. God bless you and thank your father for his service.
PS. I have family on the Cape, too! So beautiful there! 🙂

  13. Thank you for writing this, I’m glad it’s spreading. My father was a NYC police officer for 25 years and thank God, we never had that dreaded knock on the door. The police and their families need to know there are so many people out there that will support them 100%. Thank you again and I hope you have a beautiful holiday season.

    1. I’m glad that people got something out of it, especially all the police families. There is definitely lots of support, and I think more people are now taking the time to say and show it, which is wonderful. Happy New Year!

  15. Thanks Ana. I agree with your thoughts. People either aren’t thinking or are more motivated by scoring political points than the protecting the lives of people of all races. I blame the Mayor and City Council as well as the religious and social leaders. And, parents who have not taught their children, now adults, that they have to think before they act and they’re responsible for the consequences of their actions.
